Camp Chi, Jewish summer camp in Lake Delton, United States
Camp Chi is a summer camp covering 600 acres in Lake Delton, Wisconsin, with two swimming pools, tennis courts, equestrian stables, and a year-round gymnasium. The property includes athletic fields and outdoor spaces designed to support a wide range of recreational and educational activities.
The camp was established in 1921 as the Chicago Hebrew Institute, created by Jewish Community Centers in Chicago. In 1957 it relocated to Lake Delton to provide more space and better facilities for its growing programs.
The camp weaves Jewish traditions and values into daily activities while welcoming children from many different backgrounds. Shared meals, celebrations, and group experiences create a sense of belonging centered on community and mutual respect.
The camp runs specialized programs including Keshet for children with developmental differences and Avodah for adults with disabilities. Both programs are designed to offer fully inclusive experiences tailored to each person's abilities and interests.
Staff members come from around the world including the United States, Canada, South Africa, Europe, and Australia, bringing diverse perspectives to camp life. These international counselors lead activities in outdoor adventure, waterfront sports, and creative arts.
