Built between 1884 and 1885, this sandstone structure replaced the original two-story brick courthouse from 1834 at a cost of 150,000 dollars.
The courthouse maintains its position as the central governmental building of Carroll County, hosting legal proceedings and administrative functions since the 19th century.
Located on Public Square, the four-level building includes modern heating systems, updated wiring, and a 1976 addition that houses the county jail.
The building incorporates materials from two specific quarries, using both Navarre sandstone and Berea stone in its construction.
