Crystal Grottoes, Show cave in Boonsboro, Maryland, US
Crystal Grottoes features passages with white and buff speleothem formations, including stalactites, flowstone, and columns spread across horizontal corridors.
Road construction workers discovered the cave in 1920 when their drill bit disappeared into a hole, leading to its public opening in 1922.
The cave serves as an educational center where visitors learn about geological processes and the formation of underground limestone structures.
The cave welcomes visitors daily from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM with guided tours every thirty minutes and admission prices of $23 for adults.
The Blanket Room spans 30 feet in length and 20 feet in width, displaying large sheets of stalactites across its 20-foot-high ceiling.
