Fairview Manor, Historic house in Clayton, New York, US
Fairview Manor is a French Eclectic-style house situated on extensive grounds near the St. Lawrence River with multiple structures on the property. The estate includes a chapel, guest cottages, and various outbuildings arranged across the landscaped grounds.
The house was built in 1937 and originally served as a summer residence for Carl Zimmerman. It received National Register of Historic Places designation in 2007.
The manor underwent extensive renovations, including the transformation of original slate roof materials into household items while maintaining its architectural character.
The property is located in Jefferson County and features modern geothermal heating systems installed throughout. The windows have been replaced with Marvin models designed to match the original architectural style.
The estate was subdivided in 2014 with one parcel retaining the main house, chapel, and cottages along with direct river views. This division shaped how the property exists in its current form.
