Thousand Islands National Park, National park in Ontario, Canada

The park contains 21 islands and numerous islets across the Saint Lawrence River, forming a network of granite outcrops and forested areas.

After indigenous peoples inhabited the region for thousands of years, the park was officially established in 1904, becoming one of Canada's earliest national parks.

The park landscape connects the ancient territories of the Haudenosaunee and Mississauga Anishinaabe peoples, who used these waters for fishing and transportation.

Visitors access most park areas by boat from Mallorytown Landing Visitor Center, which provides information, trails, and rental services for water activities.

The islands represent exposed peaks of ancient mountains that form part of the Frontenac Axis, connecting the Canadian Shield to the Adirondack Mountains.
