Fellows Riverside Gardens, Public botanical garden in Youngstown, Ohio.
Fellows Riverside Gardens is a public botanical garden in Youngstown that spans twelve acres within Mill Creek MetroParks. The space displays roses, flowering perennials, bulbs, and seasonal annuals arranged around Lake Glacier.
Elizabeth Fellows donated land and funds in 1958 to establish the gardens, while landscape architect John Paolano created the initial design in 1962. This partnership between a donor and a designer shaped the foundation of the current layout.
The gardens carry the name of their founder Elizabeth Fellows and serve as a venue for art exhibitions and learning programs. Visitors come here to attend talks and discover more about plants and the natural world.
The gardens are open daily and free to enter, with an on-site cafe and gift shop for visitors. An observation tower provides views across the entire space, and a horticultural library is available for browsing.
Over 40,000 bulbs bloom each spring throughout the space, transforming it into a colorful oasis. One section alone contains more than 1,300 different rose varieties gathered in a single dedicated area.
