Vinh Stadium, Football stadium in Vinh, Vietnam.
Vinh Stadium is a sports facility for football and athletics in the city of Vinh, in Nghe An Province in central Vietnam. It has concrete grandstands with covered seating sections arranged around a natural grass pitch that is encircled by a running track.
The stadium was built in the early 1970s with technical support from West Germany, which made it one of the first modern sports venues in the region. In the early 2000s, the infrastructure was substantially renewed to meet the demands of national-level competition.
The stadium is home to Song Lam Nghe An Football Club, which has a devoted following across the province. On matchdays, fans fill the stands with chants and flags, turning the ground into a place of strong local pride.
The stadium sits in central Vinh and is easy to reach on foot or by local transport from most parts of the city. On matchdays it is worth arriving well before kickoff, as the seating fills up quickly and the area around the entrances can get crowded.
Although the stadium is known mainly for football, its running track has been used for national athletics events, making it one of the few multi-use sports centres in the region. This dual purpose was a deliberate part of the original design from the 1970s.
