Hue Museum of Royal Fine Arts

The Hue Museum of Royal Fine Arts occupies Long An Palace, a building featuring 128 carved wooden pillars and traditional Vietnamese architectural design. The collections contain over 300 artworks made from diverse materials arranged throughout the interior spaces.

The museum was established in 1923 under King Khai Dinh's decree to showcase Vietnamese artistic achievements and royal heritage. This early institution played an important role in documenting and preserving the artworks of an entire period.

The space reflects the artistic traditions valued by the Nguyen Dynasty through its collections. Visitors can observe how materials like gold, glazed terra-cotta, and porcelain were shaped to express royal artistic vision.

The building sits on an accessible street in the city center and can be reached easily on foot. Visitors should plan for comfortable walking, as the tour moves through several connected interior spaces.

The palace walls display 1,000 poems written in Chinese script, including two compositions by King Thieu Tri. This blend of literature and visual art shows how royal education extended across multiple creative forms.
