Vị Xuyên

Vị Xuyên is a rural district in Hà Giang province located in the mountains of northeastern Vietnam at high altitude. The area consists of hilly terrain with scattered villages and farmland used by local families.

This district became a major battlefield from 1984 to 1989 when Vietnamese forces fought against Chinese military operations in the border region. The conflict left a lasting impact on local communities.

The Thanh Thủy border crossing connects this district directly with China's Malipo county through the Tianbao gateway. This crossing serves as a main trade route between the two countries.
