Fizagat Recreation Park, Recreation park in Swat Valley, Pakistan
Fizagat Recreation Park is a recreation area along the Swat River near Mingora, featuring man-made lakes, playgrounds, and open green spaces. The site occupies forested terrain with distinct zones laid out for different types of activities and relaxation.
The site was established in 1984 by Malak Bairam Khan, who served as chairman of Mingora's municipal committee. This founding led to its growth into a major recreation center for the region.
The park has sections designed separately for families and women, which reflects how the community values different spaces for social gathering. These areas allow visitors to experience local customs while enjoying outdoor recreation together.
The park is accessible from sunrise to sunset, with the most comfortable visiting conditions occurring during the cooler months. Many people prefer to visit between November and December when weather is most pleasant.
The park includes a diesel-powered cable car that carries visitors up forested slopes to an elevated viewing platform. From this vantage point, visitors get a bird's eye view of the artificial lake and camping areas below.
