Lake Pernica, reservoir in Slovenia
Lake Pernica is a small reservoir in the Municipality of Pesnica, formed by water from the Pernica River and divided into two ponds by a road embankment. The water flows between the ponds while trees and grass line the shores in a natural setting.
The lake was created as part of local water management efforts for agriculture and irrigation purposes. It is one of five reservoirs along the Pernica River system designed to regulate water flow and supply.
The lake is easily accessible by car with parking available nearby, though there are no cafes or shops in the area. Swimming is not suitable here, but you can fish, walk around the shores, or enjoy the view.
The lake looks particularly striking in early morning when mist hovers over the water, creating moments that draw photographers and those seeking solitude. Few visitors experience this effect because most arrive during daylight hours.
