Dalyan

Located between Lake Köyceğiz and the Mediterranean Sea, Dalyan features a network of waterways flowing through dense reed beds and canals.

The area received municipal status in 1969, evolving from a village into a neighborhood in 2012 under Turkish law number 6360.

Traditional fishing methods remain central to local life, with fishermen using nets to catch mullet, sea bream, and bass in the river channels.

Visitors can reach Dalyan through Dalaman Airport, situated 30 kilometers away, with regular shuttle services connecting to the neighborhood.

The Dalyan Canal leads to Iztuzu Beach, a 5-kilometer stretch where Caretta Caretta sea turtles lay their eggs from May to October.
