Günlüklü Koyu, Protected beach in Fethiye, Turkey
Günlüklü Koyu is a protected beach set in a cove with soft sand and shallow water, surrounded by dense liquidambar trees. These trees provide natural shade across the area and create sheltered spots throughout the beach.
The area was developed as a coastal destination during the 1990s when local authorities built facilities for visitors. The original liquidambar forest was kept intact throughout the development process.
Local fishermen use the small stream flowing into the cove to practice traditional methods that have been part of the area for generations. You can see these daily activities if you visit in the early morning hours.
The beach is easy to reach with marked paths leading to the water and facilities along the shore. It is best visited early in the morning or late in the afternoon when shade is more available and crowds are smaller.
A natural freshwater stream meets the sea at this cove, creating a special place where different fish species live and feed. This rare meeting point makes the water conditions different from typical sandy beaches nearby.
