Şeyh Camii, Ottoman mosque in Menteşe, Turkey
The Şeyh Camii features traditional Ottoman architectural elements with a cylindrical minaret and an entrance decorated with historical inscriptions.
The mosque underwent two significant renovations in the 19th century, first in 1831 by Ümmü Gülsüm Hatun and later in 1896 by Şerif Efendi and Ragıp Efendi.
The tomb of Sheikh Bedrettin, after whom the mosque is named, remains within the complex as an important religious and historical monument.
The mosque received a complete restoration in June 2007, providing updated facilities while maintaining its religious and architectural character.
The entrance portal contains the only remaining original inscription from the early construction period of the mosque.
