黃繼烔公墓園, Military cemetery in Xizhi, Taiwan.
Huang Chi-tsung Memorial Cemetery is a military burial ground in Xizhi situated on hilly terrain with expansive grounds. The site contains grave plots, columbarium sections, and a memorial palace with ceremonial halls for commemorations.
The cemetery was built between 1981 and 1982 and became the main resting place for military personnel connected to mainland China. Over time, as burial space became limited, cremation and columbarium storage became standard practice.
The Memorial Palace contains four ceremonial halls where traditional rituals and commemorations take place throughout the year.
The cemetery sits on elevated ground with varying paths and many steps throughout the grounds, so wear sturdy shoes for comfortable walking. Visitors should plan their route in advance since the grounds are quite expansive and spread across multiple levels.
Honor Guards maintain a permanent presence at the cemetery, performing ceremonial duties during memorial events and official visits.
