Taichung Condominium Tower, Residential skyscraper in Taichung, Taiwan
Taichung Condominium Tower is a residential building composed of two connected sections rising from the urban landscape. The south tower features a translucent glass exterior, while both sections are integrated through shared base facilities and structural systems.
Construction began in 2015 and finished in 2018, representing Richard Meier's first architectural work in Taiwan. This completion marked a shift in the city's residential design approach during that period.
The residential tower introduces 110 living units that reflect Taiwan's modern urban development through its architectural design and spatial arrangement.
The building offers residents and guests various amenities including a swimming pool, fitness center, and meditation spaces. A sky garden on the sixteenth floor provides an elevated space for relaxation and views over the city.
The building employs a sophisticated solar shading system through its curved glass facade that regulates daylight and minimizes heat gain. This design demonstrates how residential buildings in the city balance energy efficiency with resident comfort.
