Taichung Harbor Hotel, hotel in Taiwan
Taichung Harbor Hotel is a hotel in Dingliao Village, Wuqi District, near Taichung Harbor in Taiwan. The building has a straightforward exterior and offers around 200 rooms with modern furnishings and standard amenities.
The hotel opened in 2013 in an area shaped by centuries of maritime trade along the western coast of Taiwan. Taichung Harbor, which grew into one of the main ports on the island, gave the surrounding villages much of their economic identity over the generations.
Dingliao Village has long been shaped by fishing, and that character is still visible in the streets around the hotel today. Small fish stalls and seafood spots are common nearby, giving visitors a direct sense of how coastal life looks and feels in this part of Taiwan.
The hotel sits close to Taichung Airport and a high-speed rail station, making connections to other parts of Taiwan straightforward. Guests can also use the on-site restaurant, fitness center, and spa without having to go far.
Since January 2015, the hotel stopped providing disposable items such as toothbrushes and slippers, an early move in the hospitality industry in Taiwan. This decision was made to cut down on plastic waste, which is a notable step for a property located next to a working cargo port.
