Sykhiv is a residential microdistrict in southeastern Lviv divided into several smaller sections with standardized apartment buildings erected from the 1970s through the 1980s. The area also includes a major sports stadium and numerous schools serving the resident population.
The district developed through urban expansion projects during both Polish and Soviet periods, eventually becoming an official district in 2000. Construction in the area reflects planning from different eras, ranging from interwar structures to large-scale Soviet residential complexes.
The older buildings in the north reflect residential styles from the early 20th century with different design approaches than the newer sections. These older structures stand alongside more recent housing, showing how the district evolved over time.
