Abbott Hospital

Abbott Hospital is a former medical facility in Stevens Square that now functions as a residential building containing 123 apartment units at 110 East 18th Street. The structure comprises three distinct sections that integrate market-rate and affordable housing options throughout its spaces.

The facility began operations as a hospital in 1910 and underwent several expansions during its medical use before closing in 1980. The merger with Northwestern Hospital that followed led to the site's eventual transition to residential purposes.

The conversion from medical facility to housing preserves the building's original architectural character while serving the neighborhood's residential needs. Local residents recognize this transformation as part of how Stevens Square has evolved over time.
