Ice dome Tashkent, multifunctional indoor arena in Uzbekistan
The Ice Dome Tashkent is a large modern venue that opened in 2019 and holds up to 10,000 people for various events. The complex features a main ice rink measuring approximately 60 by 30 meters for hockey, flexible seating that adapts to different sports and concerts, and additional facilities including a fitness center, sports museum, and dining areas.
Construction began in 2017 and was completed in March 2019 after approximately two years of work. The complex marked the opening of Tashkent's first professional ice sports facility and represented a significant investment in modernizing the country's sports infrastructure.
The dome is named after the Humo bird, a creature that symbolizes happiness and freedom in local culture. This symbol shapes how people experience the space, with the building's wings echoing the bird's form and making the venue feel connected to regional identity.
The complex features a four-level parking lot directly at the entrance, making it convenient for visitors arriving by car. Its central location with good public transit connections ensures easy access from different parts of the city.
The corridors feature colorful murals by artist Bobur Ismailov, and vintage GAZ cars are displayed inside, giving the space an unexpected cultural dimension. These decorative touches transform the arena into more than just a sports venue and connect it to local art and automotive heritage.
