Es Calo

Es Caló is a narrow beach with fine white sand extending about 100 meters along the coast, bordered by rock formations. Clear waters create natural swimming sections divided by rocky outcrops that form small protected coves.

The site was a small commercial port in the early 20th century where wooden boats transported goods between Formentera and neighboring islands. Little physical evidence remains today, but this maritime trading past continues to shape the character of the place.

The beach reflects the area's fishing heritage through the simple restaurants that still serve fresh catch to visitors and locals alike. This connection to the sea shapes how people use and value the space today.

The beach has no rental services or facilities like sunbeds, so bring your own equipment if needed. Restaurants and a small shop are within a short walk for food and supplies.

The water here has exceptional clarity that allows you to see rock formations and marine life below with remarkable detail. This visibility makes it a favorite spot for snorkeling, even though no official diving equipment rentals are available.
