Shaheed Minar, Memorial structure at Jahangirnagar University, Bangladesh
The Shaheed Minar stands with seven triangular monuments reaching 150 feet high across 108 acres of land in Savar Upazila.
The memorial commemorates those who gave their lives during the Bangladesh Liberation War of 1971, marking the nation's independence from Pakistan.
Every February 21st, citizens gather at the monument to observe Language Movement Day with ceremonies honoring the martyrs of Bangladesh.
Visitors can reach the memorial by taking local buses or taxis from Dhaka city via the Dhaka-Aricha highway through Gabtoli-Aminbazar.
The memorial includes a basement containing historical murals depicting the events and figures of the Language Movement.
