Dhaka Stock Exchange

The Dhaka Stock Exchange is a stock exchange in Nikunja, Dhaka, Bangladesh. It occupies a multi-story tower where traders and brokers work on several floors equipped with dedicated computer systems every trading day.

The institution was created in 1954 to respond to growing securities trading after the partition of the Indian subcontinent. In the 1990s it shifted from an open outcry floor to digital trading systems.

The exchange conducts educational programs through its Training Academy to increase financial literacy and investment knowledge among Bangladesh residents.

Access is normally restricted to finance professionals and media representatives with prior registration. Visitors can sometimes view the main trading floor through windows from the ground-level reception area.

Alongside the exchange, the institution runs a special desk that handles inquiries specifically from overseas Bangladeshi investors. This service provides help with registration and account management from abroad.
