Church of la Compañía, Palencia

The Church of la Compañía displays three descending width sections on its facade, bordered by Corinthian pilasters and constructed with brick and stone materials.

The structure, initially dedicated to Saint Lawrence, was built between 1584 and 1599 by Jesuits who later abandoned it following their expulsion from Spain in 1767.

The main altarpiece, created by Pedro de Bahamonde in the eighteenth century, contains images of Saint Lawrence, Saint Francis Xavier, and Saint Ignacio de Loyola.

The church opens daily from 10:30 to 13:30 and 18:30 to 20:00, except Mondays and Wednesdays when morning hours end at 13:00.

The church houses the 41-centimeter statue of Virgen de la Calle from the fifteenth century, recognized as the patron saint of Palencia.
