The Church of San Lázaro exhibits Gothic architectural features with elongated proportions and detailed facade elements across its exterior structure.
Originally established in 1076 as part of a pilgrims' hospital founded by El Cid, the church underwent substantial reconstruction starting in 1508 under Sancho de Castilla.
The church interior contains a 16th-century Plateresque altarpiece, transferred from Tordehumos church, with nineteen sculptural groups linked to Berruguete and Valmaseda schools.
The church maintains regular parish functions and underwent major renovations between 1955 and 1959, followed by cleaning and conditioning works in 2006.
The building displays three distinct architectural periods of Gothic style evolution while maintaining a uniform external appearance.
