The bronze equestrian statue features General Baldomero Espartero mounted on horseback, surrounded by four reclining lions on a circular platform.
The monument's foundation stone was placed on February 27, 1872, coinciding with General Espartero's birthday, and its inauguration took place on September 23, 1895.
The pedestal displays fourteen bronze words representing values associated with Espartero, including concepts such as Peace, Temperance, and Patriotism.
Located in the central area of Logroño, the monument weighs 11,130 kilograms and was constructed using bronze from recycled cannons.
The statue's bronze elements were cast in José Comas Blanch's workshops in Barcelona, with sculptor Pablo Gibert creating both this version and a similar one in Madrid.
