Palacio de Godoy, Renaissance palace in Cáceres, Spain
The palace features a central courtyard with two levels, stone-carved coats of arms, and a main facade with semi-circular arch entrance.
Francisco de Godoy Aldana, who served under Francisco Pizarro during the conquest of Peru, ordered the construction of this palace in 1548.
The building incorporates Renaissance architectural elements, including a corner balcony designed by Pedro de Marquina in 1563 with decorative busts and columns.
The palace stands in Godoy Street, facing Santiago Square, and will become a Hilton hotel by the end of 2024.
Between 1943 and 1973, the palace served as a maternity hospital known as Casa de la Madre before becoming a residence for girls from Las Hurdes.
