Praia do Abra, Rock beach and white sand beach in Panxón Nigrán, Spain.
Praia do Abra is a beach in Panxón, a coastal village in the municipality of Nigrán in Galicia, Spain. It runs for about 1,700 meters (5,580 ft) along the coast and combines a wide sandy stretch with rocky sections at both ends.
Panxón was a fishing community for centuries, and the shore served as a working coast for local boats. During the 20th century, the area gradually shifted toward leisure use as visitors from the region began coming to the beach in greater numbers.
The beach sits in a fishing village, and that past is still visible in the small boats pulled up along the edges of the water. Locals tend to gather here in the early evening, walking the path that runs along the shoreline.
Showers, toilets, and sun lounger rentals are available during the swimming season, mostly concentrated in the central sandy section. If you plan to explore the rocky ends, bring shoes with a firm sole since the ground is uneven there.
On a clear day, the Islas Cíes archipelago is visible from the shoreline, sitting at the mouth of the Ría de Vigo. The view is easy to miss because most visitors focus on the sand, but looking out to sea reveals the outline of these islands on the horizon.
