Playa Area Fofa

Area Fofa combines white sand sections with rocky formations along its 100-meter stretch, facing the Vigo estuary and Baiona bay.

The beach forms part of an ancient coastal settlement area, where traditional Galician fishing communities established their first settlements centuries ago.

Local fishermen maintain traditional shellfish harvesting practices in the waters near Area Fofa, collecting different species throughout the year.

Visitors can access the beach through a track from Madorra Beach, with parking available for approximately ten vehicles near the entrance.

The beach belongs to a Special Conservation Area under the European Natura 2000 project, protecting native coastal flora and marine ecosystems.
