Playa de Troenzo, Sandy beach in Llanes, Spain.
Playa de Troenzo is a small sandy beach in Llanes with a 60-meter shoreline backed by rocky outcrops that frame the cove. The sand shrinks noticeably when the tide comes in, sometimes disappearing almost completely.
Remains of an ancient settlement called Castro de Troenzo sit on the left side of the beach, showing this coastal area was inhabited long ago. The site reveals how people lived and used this rocky shore in early times.
The beach forms part of the protected Costa Verde landscape, representing the traditional connection between Asturian communities and their coastal environments.
A parking area near the beach can accommodate around 50 to 100 cars, making it easy to reach by car. A footpath connects the beach to the road between Celoriu and Barru for those arriving on foot.
A wooded camping area next to the beach is home to over 1,000 trees representing more than 100 different species. This diverse botanical collection makes the surroundings feel more like a forest park than a typical beach zone.
