The stone chapel stands on a hilltop, featuring two crenellated towers that overlook the Cantabrian Sea and the town of Llanes below.

The religious building dates back to 1516, constructed primarily with tile and wood materials, and underwent several structural modifications throughout the centuries.

Each September 8th, local residents gather at the chapel wearing regional costumes to perform traditional dances and participate in religious ceremonies.
