Puertu Chicu Beach

Puertu Chicu Beach is an urban beach in Llanes that stretches along the coast with white sand and pebbles. Natural rock outcrops divide the shoreline into separate sections, with the seabed shifting between sandy and pebbly areas depending on the tide.

This beach developed in the early 20th century as Llanes expanded its harbor and maritime infrastructure. The coastal area transformed from a working fishing zone into a destination for swimming and leisure.

Local residents gather at Puertu Chicu Beach throughout summer evenings for traditional Asturian musical performances and regional celebrations.

Showers and waste bins are available throughout the beach, with regular cleaning staff maintaining the area. Access is straightforward from the San Antón waterfront promenade, which runs behind the sand.

Three distinct sandy coves form this beach, separated by natural rock formations that create separate zones for different beach activities.
