Playa de Poo, Sandy beach in Llanes, Spain.

Playa de Poo is a sandy beach in Llanes with white sand stretching along a narrow cove shaped by the Vallina river. The river runs along the right side of the beach before reaching the Cantabrian Sea.

The coast around this beach has been shaped by tidal patterns over centuries, constantly changing the landscape. Small fishing communities grew in this area because of the sea's rich resources.

The village of Poo nearby shows traditional Asturian building styles with characteristic storage houses that reflect how people have lived here over time. These structures still shape the village appearance and tell the story of local life across generations.

The beach has lifeguard services, showers, restaurants, and parking within easy walking distance. Visiting at low tide gives you more sand to explore and use.

The beach transforms dramatically between low and high tide, with the sand area changing substantially throughout the day. This shifting landscape creates different experiences depending on when you arrive.
