Playas de Sovalle, Valle y Niembro

Playas de Sovalle, Valle, and Niembro are three connected beaches with white sand and rocky outcrops stretching along the Cantabrian coast near Llanes. Together they form a varied shoreline where rock formations rise above sandy areas in different patterns.

The Niembro section received Blue Flag certification in 1997, marking recognition of coastal quality standards. This achievement reflected growing attention to cleanliness and conditions along these shores.

These waters have long been tied to fishing, and the rock formations offer excellent conditions for diving and underwater activities that visitors can observe today. Local fishers continue to work this coastline, and their daily presence shapes the character of the place.

Sovalle requires a walk to reach, as no direct road leads to this beach, and visitors should expect strong waves in these waters. At low tide, additional walking space and connections between the three sections become visible, making it easier to explore.
