Playa de Portiello

Playa de Portiello is a small beach with fine white sand and scattered rocks, framed by tall cliffs on both sides. It stretches about 35 meters along the shoreline and experiences strong waves that give it a raw, dynamic character.

The beach's name comes from an old gate that once marked boundaries between the villages of Celorio and Poo. This name reflects how the coastline served as a dividing line between communities in the past.

At low tide, a large natural pool called 'la Poza' forms on the beach, creating distinct swimming conditions found nowhere else nearby. This tidal phenomenon makes the spot memorable for how the water behavior changes throughout the day.
