Quartier Saint-Laurent, Historical neighborhood in Grenoble, France

Saint-Laurent extends along the right bank of the Isère River, from the Porte de France to the neighboring town of La Tronche.

During the Gallo-Roman period, a small suburb developed outside the Roman walls on the right bank of the Isère at the foot of the Bastille.

The neighborhood features colored facades influenced by Italian immigrants, stone quarrying heritage, and traditional glove-making craftsmanship from past centuries.

Visitors can access the area year-round and explore the narrow Saint Laurent street connecting Place de la Cymaise to the Saint-Laurent Gate.

The district houses the Archaeological Museum built upon ancient church remains and the CCSTI, France's first association for promoting scientific culture.
