The settlement of Paz extends across 12.9 square kilometers of northeastern Istria at an elevation of 300 meters above sea level.
The castle of Paz originated as a fortress constructed by Friedrich Eberstein in the 1290s after receiving it from the patriarch of Aquileia.
The parish church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the cemetery church of St. Vid represent religious architecture from the 15th century.
