Vojak, summit of Učka massif in Croatia
Vojak is a mountain summit in Učka Nature Park that rises to 1,401 meters and marks the highest point of the Istrian Peninsula. A stone observation tower crowns the peak and offers a vantage point for viewing the surrounding landscape.
The stone tower was built in 1911 and represented an important development in opening the region to visitors and tourism. This structure helped establish the location as a destination for those exploring the area.
This location draws people who seek both natural views and a sense of accomplishment from reaching its height. The stone tower serves as a gathering point where visitors pause to absorb the panorama and share the experience.
Several hiking trails lead to the summit, with the most direct route starting from Poklon saddle and taking roughly ninety minutes. A small shop at the tower offers local products and information about the natural area.
On clear days, visitors can see five countries from this vantage point: Croatia's coastline and islands, Slovenia's shores, Italy's mountain ranges, Austria's Alps, and Bosnia's peaks. This wide view makes it one of the rare places where multiple neighbors appear together on the horizon.
