Ičići

Ičići is a coastal settlement along the northern Adriatic Sea, positioned below the slopes of Mount Učka. The town stretches along a rocky shoreline with small coves and beaches, where houses and restaurants sit close to the water.

The settlement officially took shape in 1892 when an Austrian post office was established, marking the beginning of organized administrative services. This development transformed the area from scattered habitation into a more structured community with regular infrastructure.

The area carries influences from the Austrian-Hungarian period that visitors can see in its older buildings and structures. Walking through the settlement reveals these architectural remnants from the past.

The settlement has restaurants, shops, and a marina spread along the waterfront area, all easily within walking distance of each other. The compact layout makes it simple to explore on foot, with most points of interest located near the shoreline.

A villa built in 1903 as a private residence later became a resort where sick children from other regions came to recover. The building's transformation over time reveals how structures in the area adapted to serve different purposes across the decades.
