Slatina Beach is a seaside resort beach in the center of Opatija, Croatia, with a long concrete sunbathing area and a small separate pebble section right next to the water. The shore slopes gently toward the sea, and the space is backed by a tree-lined promenade, cafes, and older buildings that frame the waterfront.

Opatija grew into a fashionable seaside retreat in the late nineteenth century, and the shore around Slatina was part of that early appeal for travelers from across Europe. The villas and hotels that still line the waterfront recall the period when the town first became known for its mild air and bathing culture.

Slatina holds the Blue Flag, and its name is used for both the beach and the adjoining bathing area, Plaža Slatina or Kupalište Slatina. West of the beach, the Croatian Walk of Fame runs along the Lungomare promenade, which curves around Slatina before returning to the coast. Souvenir sellers work the beach and its immediate surroundings in season.

The beach is easy to reach on foot from many parts of Opatija, and the main concrete surface is simple to move across once you arrive. Early morning or late afternoon is the calmest time to visit, especially in warm months when the shore fills with families and swimmers.

Because the main lounging surface is a raised concrete terrace rather than sand, visitors sit directly above the sea with their feet almost at water level, which gives the spot a different rhythm from nearby pebble coves. You can also spot small fish gathering near the submerged walls just a few steps from where people sunbathe.
