Velence

Velence is a town positioned along the northeastern shore of Lake Velence in Fejér County. The settlement stretches across the waterfront, providing direct access to this significant body of water.

The settlement grew around Lake Velence, which formed as a closed basin and developed into one of Hungary's largest natural lakes. The town's growth followed the water's role as a local center.

The town maintains connections with local traditions through events at the lake shore, bringing together residents and visitors throughout the year.

The town sits approximately 50 kilometers northeast of Budapest and is readily accessible via the M7 motorway and train connections to the capital. Visitors will find good transportation links whether arriving from or departing to the city.

The lake water becomes notably warm in summer, reaching temperatures between 26 and 28 degrees Celsius. This warmth exceeds that of most other lakes in the country and draws swimmers particularly during the hotter months.
