The Museum of Hungarian Aviation shows aircraft, helicopters, and technical equipment in hangars and exhibition areas. The collection spans different periods of Hungary's aviation history.
The museum started in 1973 from a flight school collection and grew by adding military aircraft. Over time, more historic machines were acquired.
The museum displays aircraft and equipment that represent Hungary's aviation history. Visitors see old uniforms and photographs that offer insight into the lives of pilots and technicians.
The exhibitions are indoors and outdoors and easy to see without any special knowledge. Good shoes are recommended since there is much to explore on foot.
One notable machine is a fully operational Lisunov Li-2 aircraft that survived in this working state. Added to this are aircraft recovered from Second World War battlefields.
