János Damjanich Museum

The János Damjanich Museum is a regional institution in a neoclassical building at Kossuth Square. It holds archaeological finds, historical objects, and paintings that trace the area's past through art and cultural materials.

The museum was founded in 1933 when historian Viktor Híld began gathering collections, and relocated to its current building in 1952. This building originally served as the Royal Hungarian Hotel, built in 1860.

The museum displays local pottery and traditional clothing alongside works from the Szolnok Art Colony, reflecting the region's craft traditions and artistic heritage.
