Pécsi Vidámpark, Amusement park in Pécs, Hungary.
Pécsi Vidámpark was an amusement park in Pécs that spread across a large wooded area within the Mecsek Forest. The grounds held multiple rides including a roller coaster and carousel, along with an outdoor stage for performances.
The park opened in 1961 after being built through extensive volunteer work by local citizens and workers. An outdoor stage was added in the 1960s to expand the entertainment offerings for visitors.
The outdoor stage served as a gathering place where families watched performances by Hungarian artists and musicians. This venue shaped the region's entertainment culture for decades, becoming a center of social life for local communities.
The park depended on consistent visitor numbers to cover operating costs and maintain its facilities. Operations ceased at the end of 2011, after which the grounds were no longer accessible to the public.
A retired Hungarian aircraft from the Malév airline was displayed on the grounds and became a recognizable symbol of the area. The plane with registration HA-LIS gave the park a distinctive appearance and made it memorable to local visitors.
