Kevadia

Kevadia is a settlement in Narmada district along the banks of the Narmada River. The town is surrounded by green hills and known for the Statue of Unity, one of the world's tallest monuments.

The settlement gained international attention in 2018 with the inauguration of the Statue of Unity, dedicated to Indian statesman Vallabhbhai Patel. The area then became a major destination for visitors and remembrance of his role in India's history.

The region reflects Gujarati heritage through local festivals, traditional food, and architectural features visible throughout the streets. Visitors can experience these influences directly in small shops and during community celebrations.

The place is accessible by rail and bus connections, with many hotels and galleries near the main attractions. The best time to visit falls during cooler months when the climate is more pleasant.

Beyond the famous statue, there is also the Sardar Sarovar Dam, which generates electricity and stands as an engineering feat. The nearby wildlife sanctuary hosts diverse animal species and creates a contrast to the modern structures.
