Hans Berger Haus is a mountain hut located at 940 meters elevation at the top of Kaisertal valley. It provides overnight accommodations with about 50 beds across different room types and serves as an important base for hikers and mountaineers in this region.
The building opened in 1933 as Kaiser Valley Hut and received its current name in 1956 to honor a long-serving chairman of the local Alpine Club section. Since then it has been an established resting place for mountain hikers in the Kaiser region.
The refuge is run by the Kufstein section of Austrian Friends of Nature and serves as a gathering place for people exploring the surrounding mountains. It functions as a meeting point where hikers and climbers share their experiences in the natural landscape.
The hut is located at the end of Kaisertal and is accessible from above via hiking trails. Visitors should know that only cash is accepted, regular rooms include bed linens, while the mountaineering camp requires bringing your own sleeping bags.
Near the hut lies the Tischofer Cave, which contains archaeological finds from the Neolithic and Bronze Age periods. This cave reveals that humans lived in this mountain region thousands of years ago.
