Stolac

Stolac is a settlement in the Herzegovina-Neretva region situated at 252 meters above sea level on the banks of Bregava River. The town is framed by Mount Hrgud and Vidovo field, creating a distinctive geographical setting.

Archaeological evidence shows human habitation in the area spanning more than 15,000 years. Preserved remains of settlements from the Illyrian civilization demonstrate the deep historical roots of this location.

The Radimlja necropolis displays 133 medieval tombstones carved with detailed portraits and ornaments from the 15th and 16th centuries. These stone monuments still shape the landscape and speak to the people who once lived here.

A new road completed in 2022 connects the town with Neum, improving accessibility to both locations and the nearby city of Mostar. Visitors can use this improved infrastructure to move between main destinations easily.

The Sarica house museum, built in 1734, stands as one of the earliest examples of Ottoman residential architecture in the area. The building reveals how people lived during that period and the daily style of the era.
