Ovayok Territorial Park

The park spans 16 square kilometers of Arctic tundra and features three prominent eskers, including the 183-meter-high Uvayuq formation.

Archaeological evidence reveals the presence of Thule and Paleo-Eskimo settlements in the area, with discovered tent rings and food caches dating back centuries.

The three mountains within the park represent an Inuit story of giants who transformed into geographical features while searching for sustenance.

Located 15 kilometers east of Cambridge Bay, the park offers five hiking trails leading to former Inuit campsites and wildlife observation points.

The park contains over 50 species of migratory birds, Arctic char in its lakes, and substantial populations of muskoxen roaming the tundra landscape.
