Chippewa Park

Chippewa Park stretches along Lake Superior's shoreline and covers 270 acres with sandy beaches, RV sites, and camping areas. The grounds feature different types of accommodations and recreational facilities set by the water.

The park was established in 1921 and has been a recreation area for the city since then. A vintage carousel built between 1918 and 1920 still operates there during the summer months.

The park serves as a social gathering place where locals and visitors spend time together by the water and enjoy outdoor activities. The view of Sleeping Giant across the lake shapes how people experience and connect with this part of the region.

The park is open from late May through September and provides RV sites, cabin rentals, and tent camping throughout the grounds. Visitors should prepare for changing weather by the lake and bring appropriate clothing.
