Piz Gloria, Mountain-top restaurant at Schilthorn summit in Lauterbrunnen, Switzerland
Piz Gloria is a revolving restaurant atop Schilthorn summit at 2,970 meters elevation, commanding views of over 200 Alpine peaks. The entire dining floor rotates during a 45-minute cycle, allowing guests to observe surrounding mountain ranges while eating.
Construction began in the late 1960s during filming of the James Bond movie On Her Majesty's Secret Service at this location. The building has since become a landmark at Schilthorn and continues to draw visitors to the region.
The restaurant serves traditional Swiss dishes alongside Mediterranean specialties, with the James Bond-themed 007 Burger becoming a signature item.
Visitors reach the restaurant via cable cars departing from Stechelberg through Gimmelwald and Mürren stations to the summit. The ascent takes roughly an hour, and the air grows thinner with increasing elevation.
